About This Image: The famed Klondike Highway runs between Skagway, Alaska and Whitehorse, Yukon and is named after one of the shortest, yet most famous periods of North America history, the Klondike Gold Rush. Lasting only several short years in the late 1800s, this rush saw thousands of people attempt to reach Dawson City, Yukon... and thousands either perished or turned around. This image was photographed in the White Pass almost on the Canadian-US border.
